After not having any luck selling my late father's car that I had inherited, I was contacted by Bunbury Car Warehouse offering to sell it on my behalf. They gave me a long winded spiel about how the general public have no idea about selling cars and that they would have it gone in a week or two. What a load of crap! After more than 2 months and not so much as a phone call from them (I always made the calls) to let me know what was going on, I decided to take the car back and get a relative to sell it in Perth for me. On organising to pick it up, I was told casually at the end of the conversation, "Oh by the way, the spare wheel is gone"! After getting out of them that, yes, it had been stolen I asked them what they were doing about it which they replied "Well I didn't steal it"!??? WTF is wrong with these people?! I challenged them whether they had filed a police report to which they insisted that it was too minor and wasn't worth it.... After telling them that I expect a new matching 4WD mag wheel including brand new tyre (as this is what was on the stolen rim) within a week, they told me they were waiting for an insurance claim to go through and that there had not been a new tyre on there and I was now trying to scam them! How did they expect to get an insurance claim without filing a police report by the way? They were obviously lying and grabbing at straws when I had mentioned taking them to small claims if they didn't sort it ASAP, which they took as a threat... I informed them that a threat was quite different.

After many more phone calls and yelling matches, they finally replaced the rim with a second hand one and put on a new tyre but I am adamant that if I had not given them such a hard time, I would have been lucky to get a steel rim with a bald tyre. Avoid these dodgy characters at all costs and sell your car yourself. All they do is clean your car a bit more than you already have and add another $3000 to the asking price.... Yeah, great business strategy mate. By the way, these guys were recently taken through court for selling an unsafe vehicle - https://www.commerce.wa.gov.au/announcements/fine-bunbury-car-yard-over-repair-notice-bunbury-car-warehouse.
